I am happy to announce that ChanStat now has a new feature. We’ve been brainstorming for the past few months on new features we can bring to the bot. In the end we’ve finally decided on this one. ChanStat now produces Channel Relationship Maps. If you don’t know what you’re looking at, they can be quite confusing. But hopefully this will help everyone out.
To get the link for a specific channel’s relationship map, all you need to type is !map or @map if you’d like the link displayed to the channel. You’ll then come upon a page that has several nicks on it, with lines connecting all or most of the nicks. Where these lines are, is determined by who a user talks to the most in that particular channel. The darker/thicker the line, the more often those two users talk with each other.
These maps are generated once a day at 1:00 am EST (-5 GMT). These pages take a long time to load, so please be patient. The map is determined by only 1 day’s worth of data. We have it this way because of the time it takes to generate the maps. An example would be http://chanstat.info/map.php?channel=boohiss&network=swiftirc. For more information you may visit the About Us section or join our support channel #ChanStat.
We’ve all worked very hard on this update, and I hope you enjoy it. If you have any suggestions, please let us know.
Thanks,
Matt-
